Changes

I must admit I am so hooked on Jamie Oliver’s “Food Revolution”.

I haven’t cooked in years once the kids moved out and I was alone.  It was just too much bother to dirty up the kitchen when it was so easy to  pick up a sub or greasy cheeseburger on my way home from work, serving myself on a paper  plate. Plus most of my adult life was surrounded by fast foods and ‘junk’ snacks.  I really did not see myself changing things at this stage of the game……………………

Well, he actually has me thinking about cooking.  Yes, I pulled out the pots and pans and dusted off my dishes…………………I am off to Borders with my handy, dandy little coupon in hand to pick up one of his cookbooks!!

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks????

I just hope my stove still works………….

Good for you! I have (miraculously) been exercising lately and it is has the side effect of really making me think about what I eat. I’m trying to incorporate some better habits as well. Here’s to healthy living (while not completely giving up chocolate)!

I am loving Food Revolution, too! I do the same thing you do: eat in a catch-as-catch-can way, never planning, not really thinking about how unhealthy my choices are. Watching Jamie’s show has me thinking about how “tan” my food is.

Was talking with a colleague about it and he brought in his copy of Jamie’s Food Revolution cookbook. It is so cool! Interesting yet not complicated recipes – I am going to get my own copy as soon as I have a few extra dollars to spare.

I know changing even a few eating habits would make a big difference in my body in a number of ways. At this point, I am committed to simply being more mindful of my choices.

Good luck to both of us! And good luck with your stove!

…as I am literally sitting here, eating an entire bag of buttered popcorn.
