Stand Up To Cancer

So many organizations have events or benefits for cancer.  I think it is wonderful to see so much support and generosity when it comes to cancer, or any disease for that matter.

I stumbled across an artist, Ingrid Michaelson and learned she was donating a portion of the proceeds of her song “Be OK” to Stand Up to Cancer.

I found it to be upbeat………..And truly, these are words that not only a  cancer patient, but any of us would like to say………………

Plus I would so write “BE OK” on my face !!!

Just got back into town and was happy to see you as a follower. And going back through my list of blogs that I follow, I was surprised to see that I wasn’t already FOLLOWING YOU! I’m changing that right now.

Looks like you had a bit of drama last week. Glad you chose to ignore the meanness. Life is just to short to let that kind of stuff bother you. And we’d ALL miss you terribly!

Now… I’m off to check out “Be OK”.

I really enjoy her music and it’s great that she is helping out the cause. Will have to buy that single.

I have to admit, I’ve heard and supported Stand Up to Cancer but never heard of Ingrid Michaelson. I’m going to have to check her out.

My husband ran his first half marathon last year for the American Cancer Society. While he ran it for his Dad who has Brain Cancer, I wore a “Touched By” shirt from Stand Up 2 Cancer to support him…since at that time, I didn’t run! :)

    Great post!

Darn there is an error and I couldn’t see the video. I think I would probably write something positive too. I like the idea but on a body part I can see to remind me… be okay.

What a time for the sound card to go out on this laptop. Argh.

As soon as I get it fixed…I’ll be back.

If you decide to write Be Okay on your face, make sure you don’t do it in front of a mirror. It’ll say: yako e

  12. By Ree on Jun 22, 2009 | Reply

    that should say:

    “yakO eB”

    Damned enter key.

I just hope that one day we no longer need any of these fundraisers. Cancer has taken so many lives, it breaks my heart

This is awesome. I hadn’t seen this. Cancer is like a spectre that lurks in my life threatening to take what is mine. I like to find these things that are empowering. Powerful.

    Thanks :)
