Who Are You Kidding HGTV?

I love HGTV.

I follow it religiously.

 

But………………I really, really, have to ask ………….

 

When they do a home makeover with only $2,000……..

 

WHERE do they find granite countertop for $50? 

WHERE do they find window treatments for $25?…………oh and we decided to do every window in the house, so that brought the cost up to $35.

WHERE do they find laminate flooring for the living room, and 3 bedrooms for $100?

WHERE do they find a complete set of living room furniture along with toss pillows, lamps and  accessories for $200?

WHERE do they find paint to paint a whole house, oh and the garage, too because it could use some sprucing up for $30?

 

I KNOW it’s not where I live.

Trust me…………I am ready to remortgage my house after buying comforters and window treatments for ONLY two rooms!

 

You know what…………………….?

 

I think they lie…………………….

    AMEN! I think the same thing every time I see one of those shows! And then I wonder if they hit all kinds of HUGE clearance sales and then travel to these houses with a semi loaded full of stuff they already paid for on clearance. OR are they getting a “We’re producing a TV show and can we get a designer’s discount” discount. You can’t tell me they just pop into a store and pay $30 for an entire house worth of paint.

    It’s great that they have the contacts to pull it off, but it is sooo unrealistic. After a bit it gets a wee tiny bit frustrating…

    I’m sure you’re right. I’m with you on the comforter thing– sheesh! Unless they are shopping at garage sales, I think there’s something fishy going on…

    They are filthy liars. Really. I just got estimates on faux painting? Apparently I’ve attempted to hire Picasso or Monet. I need to get hooked up with their sources.
